The Schiller theatre is a Berlin theatre. During the 1920s and 1930s years it served the Prussian state theatre Berlin and from 1951 till 1993 the state theatre stages Berlin. After a long fight for survival the state theatre stages were closed in 1993 on decision of the Berlin senate because of the financial crisis of the town.
Today the building is rented out temporary as play location and venue. As of autumn 2010 it will serve the "Staatosoper Unter den Linden" as a substitute play location. The theatre is situated in the area Charlottenburg of the district Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf nearby Ernst-Reuter-Platz.
